Satellites in Marine Weather Forecasting
With our oceans being a vast uninhabited area there is little real time information about what is happening. Prior to satellites the best channels of information have come from ship reporting systems like Synoptic weather reports and Coastal observations such as C-Man buoys. The following links will provide you with basic information on how satellites have transformed how we look at our oceans, and how we will in the future.
