Sea-viewing Wide Field-of-view Sensor
The SeaWiFS is a project that has been designated to develop and operate a research data system that will gather, process, archive, and distribute data received from an ocean color sensor. The purpose of the SeaWiFS project is to obtain accurate ocean color data from the world's oceans for a five-year period; to process these data and to make them readily available to researchers.
