Salem State University's water usage is based on a
twelve month window at 4,269,069 cubic feet. The
university uses 15 million KwH of electricity
annually. 90,000 decatherms (DwH) of gas is used
annually at Salem State University.
The recycling program was first started as a volunteer basis in
2006 and has substantially grown over the years. When it had
first started, Salem State recycled 20 tons annually. Now it is
exceeding 100 tons annually. The program now has scheduled
retrievals and maintenance.
The university went forth with a retro commissioning of Central
Campus Marsh Hall to meet LEED standards. We are proud to be
one of the first universities to accomplish that goal.
